Dharma Mittra is one of America’s yoga superstars. Almost 70 years old, he has been named by magazines such as “Vanity Fair” the “Teacher of all Yoga Teachers.”

Dharma Mittra, who has been teaching yoga for over 50 years, is remarkably supple and has a wonderful spiritual radiance and energy. His Manhattan studio, between East Village and Lower East Side, was founded in 1974. Twenty-six instructors provide lessons in two yoga studios; Dharma himself offers eight courses a week. The studios have a distinctly Indian atmosphere; instead of stylish New Yorker designs there are pink carpets, colourful Hindu devotional objects and fairy lights.
