Lenbach, Munich

For those who know the seven deadly sins from the Bible, a trip to the Lenbach Restaurant in Munich is a must.

Envy, Greed, Lust, Sloth, Wrath, Vanity, Gluttony – In the Munich Restaurant Lenbach the seven deadly sins surround every dinner, painted in grave detail on the walls by the British star designer Sir Terence Conran. What does envy look like on the wall of a restaurant, you might ask. In Lenbach, it takes the form of a marble staircase adorned with gas masks, whereas the red light district of the bar is dedicated to the sin of lust. Vanity is in the shape of a lighted entryway, through which every guest must enter the Lenbach den of lechery. Wrath is represented by the pitch black, blood red, and cold silver intonations throughout the dining hall. Gluttony is original sin, expressed through the delicious food served round the clock in the Lenbach restaurant.
