The sixth floor of the KaDeWe (Kaufhaus des Westens) department store in Berlin is the largest and most sensational of its kind in all Europe. A gigantic space of 7.000 square meters is converted into a culinary universe, with 34.000 handpicked products from all over the world.

The gourmet foods level employs about 150 cooks and confectioners. Top quality meals are served in more than 30 gourmet bars. One can only describe the products in euphoric superlatives: 1.300 varieties of cheese, 1.200 sausage and ham specialties, 3.400 wines, 400 bread and breakfast rolls, 120 kinds of oil and much more. The fresh fish section offers exotic rarities: sea urchins, sea spiders, crabs and parrot fish. Exclusive confectionery and baked goods are on sale at Lenôtre; the pastry section alone has more than 300 chocolate, praline and truffle specialties.
