The restaurant at the Düsseldorf Medienhafen, manoeuvers between tradition and innovation, therefore the crew always has an abundance of passengers on board.
Not far from the old town and the Königsallee lies Düsseldorf's Medienhafen, an area reclaimed from the city's former merchant harbor. Alongside a few dozen well loved restaurants, bars and bistros the Bug (bow of a ship in German) has thoroughly anchored itself in the Medienhafen area. With only 120 seats, of which 35 are located in the entrance area, the atmosphere is truly intimate. Guests can move between the bow and stern of a dismembered ship where the bow is the bar. Ocean blue ceiling segments, wooden tables and floorboards as well as ambient lighting help create an unobtrusive, peacefully maritime atmosphere. The kitchen is Eurasian and the daily varying dishes are written on a slate. The evening menu contains the likes of oysters, rabbit liver and baby spinach salad with crab and raspberry dressing. The food never disappoints thanks to its professional and experimental execution.
