„Art and Eat“ is the motto of the Hornsleth Restaurant in Cologne, an atmosphere created by the Danish artist Kristian von Hornsleth.

Kristian Hornsleth is known for his anarchistic, rebellious art among the Scandinavian art scene. “Fuck You Art lovers!” is one of his most famous sayings, evocative of the avant-garde atmosphere of his restaurant in Cologne. Underneath the velvet draperies in the middle of the restaurant, numerous authentic works adorn the walls of Hornsleth, creating an unavoidable and unique opulence. The severe contrast between provocative art and decadent and standard table decorations gives the restaurant its extraordinary ambience, a rare feeling in the German restaurant industry. With regard to the cuisine, one can expect both modern dishes and classic German selections, matching the overall contradictory atmosphere of the dining rooms.
