The gardeners from Pennsylvania Walt and Joan Flowers always dreamed of having their own vineyard. In 1989, they found a newspaper advertisement offering the perfect piece of land just north of San Francisco, and the two chomped at the bit. They purchased 129 hectares of California soil and erected their own vineyard, planting only the grapes they found the most delicious: pinot noir and chardonnay.
