Greubel & Forsey has re-released their very first watch as a limited edition. The "double tourbillon mechanism" designed by Robert Greubel & Stephen Forsey helped to reduce oscillation inaccuracies caused by gravity. The mechanism became the key invention of the company.
Strictly limited to 33 pieces, the current edition is nearly identical to the famous original version. The construction, appearance, additional functions, and aesthetics of the time have been preserved immaculately: a traditional watch that nonetheless takes advantage of today's technology.

High-quality materials give the chronograph its dignified appearance. 38 rubies with golden settings have been worked into the design, and the dial-rings and bridges are made of pearled sterling silver. Fully wound, the watch is capable of 72 hours at a frequency of 21 600 half-oscillations per hour. Hours and minutes are displayed with colored triangular indicators, and the power reserve indicator is found above.
The large tourbillon completes one revolution every four minutes and features a golden name plate with the watch's logo. The the small tourbillon is set off by 30 degrees and completes a full revolution every minute.
Both cages are completely handmade.
