As an official sponsor of the Berlin Film Festival, the Champagne label Moët & Chandon provides all upcoming galas and parties with the best champagne. For years now, it has become a tradition for stars and celebrities (at the end of the Berlinale) to sign a golden "Methuselah" bottle of Moet & Chandon.
Six liters of the finest champagne in a gold bottle is already a value in itself. But when signed with autographs of the Berlinale Stars, the bottle becomes a sought after collector's item. At the Moët & Chandon champagne signing ceremony to take place during the closing night gala on 18 February, the signed bottel will be sold at auction. Profits will go to the "Tribute to Bambi" foundation, which helps needy children in Germany.
The giant Methuselah champagne bottle has already been signed by notables like Nadezhda Brennicke, Veronica Ferres, the Berlinale director Dieter Kosslick, Berlin's Mayor Klaus Wowereit, Diane Kruger, Christopher Lee, Maria Furtwängler, Hannes Jaenicke, Iris Berben, Jurgen Prochnow, Tom Tykwer, Natalia Wörner and many more notables.
