Thousands of photographers, buyers, models, designers and fashionistas arrived on Friday for the opening of London Fashion Week in the British capital. After the shows in New York, the international fashion descended on London for the British fashion week, which is then followed by Milan and Paris – said to be the international fashion businesses’ main events. More than 100 shows are planned for London Fashion Week. The British Fashion Council, which organizes the week, expected to orders of up to 100 million pounds (120 million €) to result from the affair.
British designer duo Antoni & Alison kicked off the shows on Friday. Their crisp style combined crisp colors, patterns and prints this season. Fashion bloggers predicted that the trend fancy prints will be a hit this autumn and winter 2012/2013.
Shows by Burberry, John Rocha, House of Holland, Jasper Conran and Christopher Kane are followed. One of London’s highlights, Stella McCartney’s show, took place on Saturday in an exclusive show that this year was staged in London rather than in Paris. McCartney’s return to London was considered a good sign for British fashion, although McCartney has announced that it would return to showing in Paris next season.
