Lois Stern, Kitzbühel

You won’t find Käsespätzle or Kaiserschmarrn on the menu at the Lois Stern restaurant as its main aim is to bring the taste of Asia to Austria’s jet-set Mecca. Restaurant owners are Maria and Lois Stern and here they offer an interesting crossover of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine: for example muscles with chilli, octopus salad or Thai curry. The motto of the head chef is “Pure freshness and quality without compromise.” Thanks to the open plan show kitchen, diners can assure themselves that this mission statement is adhered to by being able to see their meals being freshly prepared. Werner Baldessarini is a particular fan of this approach and likes to regard it as “unfussy Thai cuisine.” Tip: if you want to eat here booking is strongly advised; the restaurant only has space for 35 patrons!
