The BMW M3 really is a car for all occasions – obedient and good-natured for day-to-day motoring yet explosive and powerful on the racing circuit. In addition to that, as with many BMW models, it also looks the part too; much has been done to play on the contrast between convex and concave surfaces but done in such a subtle way as not to polarise popular opinion. However, the main appeal of the M3 doesn’t lie solely in its stylish appearance; what’s under the hood also counts. An 8-cylinder, 420HP engine provides sufficient power to handle in all conditions and while the M3 model is smaller than the M6, more speed and better handling is apparent. While it’s certainly a sporty machine the M3 is also suitable as an everyday vehicle as it boasts a roomy interior and spacious trunk and with a relatively affordable price tag of around €67,000 it’s a luxury affordable to many.
