Up until around 1969 Peugeot were never especially famous for unusual and eye-catching design. That all changed though when the first 504 Cabrio rolled off the production line as it seemed to possess what its predecessors had lacked; namely that little bit extra in terms of design. The Cabrio is definitely a fun car and it’s sleek lines were made all the more attractive since it wasn’t loaded down with chrome extras and other such unnecessary fitments. The man behind the chic look of the car was the Italian designer Giovanni Battista Pininfarina. New developments had were also made on the technical front; the Cabrio boasted independent suspension and disc brakes on all four wheels. The only drawback was its susceptibility to rust.
