The birthplace of Southern Comfort – The charm, hospitality and comfort of the Greenbrier in South Carolina are simply unbeatable. Situated in the middle of the Allegheny Mountain Range, the 6500 hectares of The Greenbrier are a glimpse of heaven, especially for vacationing golfers looking to hit the links and relax. The vibrant colors of the resort hotel, combined with its classical architecture and patterned carpets, give the guest the feeling of the traditional South, something very comforting compared with the cold minimalism of today’s mega resorts. The “Old White” course, the oldest of the three courses at Greenbrier, is a classical early 20th century design by the legendary C.B. MacDonald. Until his death in 2002, Sam Snead was honorary Golf Professional of The Greenbrier – There can be no greater testament to a club’s tradition than that.
