Cousine Island Resort, The Seychelles

This island, with its four luxury holiday villas, is a hobby for the South African mining millionaire that owns it.
Hobby or not, the big winners here are the endangered bird species on Cousine as well as the turtles that visit here every year.
Each season around 14,000 Hawksbill turtle babies hatch on this 25 hectare island. Guests who visit are able to assist the island’s two resident biologists in marking the turtle nesting sites and, after silently observing the hatchings, help carry the turtle babies to the ocean.
