At the moment there’s no snow in Australia but next June/July the chances of a sprinkling there are very good so if you want to combine your winter break with a liberal dose of sunshine then head Down Under. In the heart of the Kosciuszko National Park lies this hotel complex; it doesn’t just boast an incredibly evocative name, it’s main advantage is that it’s a mere 15 minutes drive away from the Thredbo and Perisher Blue skiing resorts and a free shuttle bus is available to guests. The luxury of this 4-Star resort – which features a number of 3 and 4 room suites - is actually in its architectural innovations such as the Over Water Suites; luxury accommodations situated on stilts above the waters of the lake. The spa complex which features five separate treatment rooms is likewise situated right on the lake and relaxation and luxury cosmetics are key features here, such as the sumptuous 24 Karat Gold Facial. The chalet complex also features a restaurant and bar which are open daily. The Lake Crackenback chalet complex is proof that although Australia may not immediately spring to mind as a winter skiing destination, it can ably compete with some of the world’s more established resorts.
