It's almost impossible to live more comfortably this close to the Champs-Elysées. It's still evident at the Lancaster that, until the late 19th century, it was a private villa. Marlene Dietrich lodged a whole three years in suite number 45. During the last renovation both Dietrich's suite and the overall charm of the house were kept in tact. Every now and then a hint of modernity lifts its head in the form of contemporary furniture, otherwise 19t century atmosphere dominates. The idyllic inner courtyard belongs to the hotel restaurant where students of the master, Michel Troisgros cook delicacies with an Asian leaning.
