Colorado’s Sonnenalp hotel is known as the Bavarian Jewel in the Rocky Mountains and is run by Rosana and Johannes Fäßler. The concept for this establishment is taken directly from the main Sonnenalp hotel in Allgäu and combines traditional German comfort and cosiness with American-style levels of service. There are 12 rooms and 115 spacious suites here which all feature specially imported furniture from Bavaria for that extra splash of German authenticity. There are also five in-house restaurants, a spa and wellness area, indoor and outdoor spa baths and a well-stocked library. In addition to the luxury splendour of the family friendly hotel, the area offers a 2000-hectare skiing region with all the amenities you’d expect from a luxury winter vacation resort.
