This is the Las Vegas of the East Coast – In Connecticut, the American Indians have created two casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun, which rival the grandest of them all.

Foxwoods, opened in 1992, was long known as the world’s largest casino, until the opening of The Venetian Monaco (see above) in 2007. This won’t hurt the moral of the casino giant in the New England village of “Mashantucket” (Native American for “Much-Forest-Land”, seeing as though there are over 50,000 visitors daily. Most make the trip from the surrounding cities of Boston and New York, others from even further. Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods offer the standard poker, black jack, craps, and bingo, played on 180 tables and 3000 slot machines. The gamblers do a daily service to the Pequot Indians of exceptional proportions, seeing as though these casinos bring in more revenue than the entire state of Connecticut.
