“Aquarium” in Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée, Paris

An exclusive and privileged experience: The “Aquarium” is separated from the rest of the restaurant to offer an intimate view of the master chef at work. The genius of culinary art has his empire under control. In the beginning, Alain Ducasse, like many of his colleagues, watched his chefs in Monaco over video surveillance, not to the disadvantage of his guests. Then, in his Monaco and Paris kitchens, he established a small, intimate refuge, or “aquarium”, where he could hold discussions while at the same time keeping an eye on his chefs, his own private dining room, hidden from other guests. Definately the main attraction of the legendary “Aquarium” in Paris’ luxury hotel Plaza-Athénée, six to eight chosen guests can lavishly dine on one of Ducasse’s creation undisturbed, all the while watching the magic of the kitchen.
