Tetsuya Wakuda left his homeland of Japan and headed down under in 1982 with almost no possessions – and not a word of English. Today his restaurant in downtown Sydney is one of the best in Australia, with fans across the globe including top chef Charlie Trotter.
The restaurant’s kitchen is completely unique, as Tetsuya Wakunda mixes Japanese philosophy and haute French cuisine, using natural seasonal flavors and the freshest ingredients. Of course, high quality means high cost: a 10-course meal costs about 125 Euro, and complimentary wines cost 55 per person.
