DSquared2 showed a "super sexy" '90s-inspired line at Milan Fashion Week today. The twin design duo Dean and Dan Caten explained their Spring/Summer 13 collection inspiration backstage at the event this morning. "We're in a Nineties warehouse and Peter Lindbergh has just rocked up. It's a celebration of the super girls, super sexy," they said, according to vogue.co.uk. "It's short and flirty, there are a lot of accessories".

Caps and Leather

Leather was on display throughout the catwalk offering, with daringly short miniskirts and cropped jackets worn with barely-there hotpants. Peaked black caps were teamed with every look, adding an air of edge to the already stand-out ensembles. DSquared2 made sure models' figures were on show with their new collection - proving that some pieces should not be worn day-to-day. Models strutted down the catwalk in sheer dresses, bra tops, hotpants and form-fitting T-shirts, making for an extremely racy runway. Each look was also accessorised with blinging gold chains which were layered throughout. Lashings of metallic jewellery were featured around necks, hips, wrists and bags - an obvious nod to '90s era style. However, there were more wearable looks also included in the collection.

Monochrome with subtle splashes of color

Washed-out jeans were worn with black blazers and simple white shirts, while cropped black pants also featured on the runway. Splashes of colour came in the way of coral blazers and shiny pink separates, but otherwise DSquared2 showed a largely monochrome-dominated runway. Dramatic eveningwear also featured, with a ruched number ending the show. The mullet-style gown boasted layers of gathered material at the front which gave a flamboyant feel to proceedings, while more sleek black floor-sweepers were also given a look-in.
