The longest limousines
Luxury limousine manufacturers aren't generally overly concerned with how parking space-friendly their creations are. Quite the opposite in fact. The size, and in particular the length, plays a deciding role here.
Competitiveness with regards to length-especially with manufacturers like Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Jaguar-is simply unavoidable. As a final word on this topic in the interest of defending the slight insanity of manufacturers: anybody interested in such an epic set of wheels most likely has a private driver who's more than capable of taking their machine for a cruise around the block in the event of a parking space shortage. We now like to present you with a lineup of the longest of the long luxury limousines.
Maybach: longer than Rolls Royce
First place goes (somewhat surprisingly) to the Daimler Maybach 62S. At a total of 6.17 meters long, this is a substantial machine. And it comes at a substantial price: if you need this much space, you'd better be prepared to put down half a million for it. Second place goes to a true classic: The Rolls Royce Phantom (Long Version). At 6.9 meters in length, the British offering sells for 460 000 Euro. The bronze medal goes to another Rolls Royce, the Rolls Royce Phantom V12 Automatic. The base version measures in at 5.83 meters and retails for 400 000.
Runners up: Maybach, Rolls Royce, and a Bentley
Fourth place goes to another Maybach: at a cost of nearly 417 000 Euro, the Maybach 57 measures up to its name at 5.73 meters. The Bentley Mulsanne takes the fifth place spot: at 5.58 meters long, it costs around
300 000 Euro. Another British-designed machine takes sixth place: The 5.4 meter Rolls Royce Ghost costs just over 250 000 Euro.
Jaguar XJ: a modest ninth place
The list continues with another Bentley: at 5.29 meters long and a cost of 175 000 Euro, the Bentley Continental Flying Spur can reach a top speed of 322 km/h, making it also one of the world's fastest four-door limousines. The Audi A8 L is a mere two centimeters shorter, and the Ingolstadt manufacturer's flagship costs a mere 80 000 Euro-the lowest price of our list. Jaguar's XJ makes a humble appearance in ninth place. The British flagship measures in at 5.24 meters and costs around 87 000 Euro. Last place goes to the Mercedes S 63 AMG (long), at a length of 5.24 meters and a cost of 150 000 Euro.
