Travelling With Poochy
For those of you who simply can’t bear to separate yourselves from your four legged friends, flying can be a nightmare. Private jet-share company Victor offers a luxury alternative to packing your pets as freight.
They call it ‘Furs Class’. It’s a relief from the typical hassle and worry that devoted pet owners have to face every time they try to take their beloved friends with them on their travels. The days of confining animals to dark and scary luggage holds is over – Pets on Jets allows your pet to fly with the same comfort that you enjoy.
Victor private jet sharing
The Victor jet-share program was born out of Global Beach CEO Clive Jackson’s frustration with his air travel options to and from his Mallorca home. His idea was simple: bring together people interested in splitting the cost of seats on third-party owned private jets. Members (membership is free) can fly to a wide variety of European destinations, or suggest additional connections that the company will try to arrange for future flights. Users have the option to buy a seat on a flight chartered by someone else, or charter their own (just like a carpool website), with as many or as few fellow passengers as they wish or can afford. Victor is not an airline per se, and thus offers no onboard cabin crew, but a selection of refreshments is available throughout morning and daytime flights.
Pets on Jets is essentially an open policy that allows Victor jet-share members the opportunity to bring their pet with them on the plane – small pets (up to 20 cm tall/3 kg) fly for free, larger ones must be bought their own seat.
The Furs Class program has minimal requirements for pet owners. All animals brought aboard must have a valid pet passport to depart from any UK airport. To return to the UK with a pet, owners and animals must fly on a DEFRA-approved (Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs) charter jet. According to Victor, most aircraft are DEFRA-approved, but pet owners are advised to contact the company prior to finalizing their travel arrangements. Victor can also help to connect you with other pet owners if you’d like to get to know other people with similar standards for their furry friends. Once onboard, pet owners can treat their pet to specially chosen treats and snacks to ensure everybody remains chipper.
